On Friday evening May 8th, the county Board of Supervisors voted to rescind and amend a series of local public health orders to better align with Governor Newsom’s statewide orders. Within the agreed upon rescissions was the move to make protective face masks and social distancing a personal choice. The Supervisors issued a warning that they ‘strongly recommend’ that the public continue wearing masks and practice social distancing in public areas. Those businesses that are allowed to be open, will also choose whether they require these protective measures in their stores with the knowledge that they assume their own risks in their decisions.

The CDC continues to recommend the wearing of masks in addition to stressing the importance of social distancing, especially in areas where distancing is difficult to maintain (grocery and drug stores, pharmacies, medical centers, etc.).
Locally, we continue to see the confirmed COVID-19 cases and deaths rise in Beaumont and Riverside county. No one has the ability to look into the future to know whether our confirmed cases will suddenly spike under the lifting of protective face mask and social distancing mandates.

That said, in order to continue to protect the wellbeing of our community and our ‘at risk’ Residents, we will continue to require that face masks and social distancing be maintained in our mailroom and on Association clubhouse grounds. Masks and distancing on the tennis/pickleball and bocce ball courts is strongly suggested but is your personal choice.

Although the county issued suggested guidelines for the opening of community pools, the Governor issued orders on Thursday May 7th, requiring that pools remain closed to the public. The Board and Management are moving forward with additional safety measures and procedures that will need to be in place when the time comes to allow Residents the ability to exercise in the pool once again.

All Association cleaning practices will remain as currently scheduled until further notice.

We are monitoring agency directives, along with consulting with our insurance companies and legal experts, daily. We will continue to communicate updates as they become available.

Stay well.
