SCE West of Devers (WOD) Upgrade Project Construction
The WOD Project will upgrade existing transmission lines between the Devers, El Casco, San Bernardino, and Vista substations to increase capacity to bring renewable and conventional generation to the power grid and help meet California’s renewable
Anticipated WOD Activities in the Solera area between now and early June 2020 (weather permitting):
- Week of April 20
- Removal of existing overhead lines.
- Week of April 27
- Removal of structures (towers) from their foundations.
- Disassembly of structures and transported off site.
(Immediately after existing structures have been removed, the new structures will be
assembled and constructed.)
- Late May/Early June
- Wires will be installed with the use of a helicopter and traffic control devices such as mobile guard structures and traffic control to temporarily halt traffic as a helicopter is flying over the road.
No planned electrical outages to residents are expected as a result of this work.
